Invitation to your organization for participating in the World Hypertension League

Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you join to the World Hypertension League (WHL). The WHL is a division of the International Society of Hypertension (ISH), and is in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO). The objectives of the WHL are to promote the detection, control and prevention of arterial hypertension in populations.
The World Hypertension League is a federation of leagues, societies, and other national bodies devoted to this goal. Individual membership is not possible. The thrust of the WHL's action is in liaison with the member organizations, promoting the exchange of information among them, and offering internationally applicable methods and programs for hypertension control. Bringing together and stimulating organizations committed to the control of hypertension is the goal and raison d'etre of the WHL. You may wish to visit the WHL's website www.worldhypertensionleague.org to learn more about the League.
WHL was founded in 1984 with seven national organizations. In 2011 the WHL includes 74 regular member organizations, 18 associate member organization and 3 supporting corporate members, for a total of 95 WHL member organizations.
Only one full membership is allocated to a given country; however, an Associate membership is possible for other leagues or societies within the given country.
After an organization requests membership into the WHL, and if the applicant is dedicated to the goals of the World Hypertension League and represents the hypertension community in their area, they are asked to fill out an application form (www.worldhypertensionleague.org/Pages/Members.aspx) and return it, along with any other pertinent information regarding their League, to:

The Executive Board of the World Hypertension League will then review the organization's application from this data, and make recommendations at the next scheduled Board meeting, which are held on a regular basis.
