Introduction

Turkish Society of Cardiology (TSC) Young committee consists of cardiologists younger than 40 years old and works within the body of TSC. The main objective of the committee is to standardize and improve the educational level of the young cardiologists as well as supporting career development and generalize scientific endeavour from the beginning of residency.

As one of our primary goals is broad participation, we would like you to apply for membership and inform your colleagues under 40 years old to do so. We kindly remind that privileges for young cardiologists require membership.

TSC Young executive committee attaches particular importance for active participation of young cardiologists of Turkey in scientific meetings and congresses. Therefore, ‘TSC Young Sessions’ with their rich and remarkable content have been added to the scientific programme of the Annual National Congresses of Turkey. It has the utmost importance that young cardiologists will gain experience as a lecturer, moderator or panellist in these sessions. TSC Young Board and Executive Committee work in harmony with other working groups of TSC. Hence, we wish you to share any of your suggestions, projects and requisitions with us. (tkd@tkd.org.tr)

The first issue of ‘TSC Young Bulletin’ has been released on our website, and it will be published four times a year regularly to share the latest news with you from the leading cardiology congresses (ESC, ACC, AHA, TCT, etc.).

The first 100 Question of Cardiology Consultation Book, which will guide challenging situations, is available on our website and updated second version will be completed soon. Moreover, Gray Zones in Cardiology book project has been completed successfully.

As well as sharing your challenging cases, you may follow the latest scientific updates and announcements from ‘TSC Young Cardiologists Facebook’ page, which is administered by the executive committee and has more than 2000 members.

Besides, following @tkdsosyal Twitter account and tweeting your contents by mentioning ‘@tkdsosyal’ and ‘#TSCYoung’ will improve our collaboration and communication. Of note, our public Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts have been activated under the name of @tkresmi.

‘‘The Young Cardiologist of the Year’’ contest continues with the updated criteria and ranking the highest will be awarded.

We expect you to support new studies and carry out your projects within TSC Young and wish you a successful working year.
