Our President Prof. Oktay Ergene is the candidate of the Turkish Society of Cardiology for ESC Board Councillor for the 2012-2014 term

The Board of Turkish Society of Cardiology nominates its President Prof. Dr. Oktay Ergene as their official candidate for the post of Councillor of the Board of the ESC for 2012-2014. Please find his motivation letter in the attachment.

Professor Ergene is very well known as a determined and successful academician and clinician with a strong proven record of visionary leadership not only in the activities of our society throughout the last decade but also in our increasing relations and collaboration with the other member societies of the ESC and its affiliate associations, especially the EAPCI, EAE and EACPR.

Besides his numerous papers published in peer-reviewed international and national journals, Professor Ergene has worked for several national and international research projects and for the improvement of both the Turkish and the European Boards for Accreditation in Cardiology with dedication and strongly supported the development of ESC approaches in establishing the guidelines as the common standard of the specialty.

We are sure that he will work for the ESC with the same dedication and enthusiasm as he did for our society and that he will be able to spare his time for the ESC especially after completion of his term as our President in April 2012.
