General Assembly elected new boards of the Turkish Society of Cardiology

Our General Assembly held its regular biennial meeting and elected the new board of our society as welll as the boards of our working groups right after the Joint Annual Meeting of our Workign Groups on Interventional Cardiology and Arrhythmia. In parallel with this significant meeting, the TSC-ACC joint meeting on Selected Topics from ACC and ACC/i2 was also realized with significant participation which we expect to be an international event next year and after. In fact, the joint meeting with ACC was the first activity of the newly established ACC Chapter in Turkey. Professor Alfred Bove Immediate Past President of the ACC and Professor Steven Nissen, currently Member of Board of Trustees and one of the Past President of the ACC (2006-2007) were also among the faculty of the meeting.

The General Assembly also approved the initiatives and activities of the previous board. Within this context, it also extended full support to the initiatives of accepting international abstracts for our National Congress and organizing international meetings in cardiology, regularly.

In this context, we will also be glad to receive abstracts from your colleagues.

In the 18th anniversary of the foundation of the Working Group on Interventional Cardiology, the rapid development and elaboration of the technologies and techniques in parallell with the accumulation of vast knowledge in this field; Turkish Society of Cardiology decided recently to unite the Working Groups on Interventional Cardiology, Grown-up Congenital Heart Disease and the Peripheral Vascular Interventions into the TSC Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions, to be called in short, TAPCI.
