ACC Istanbul Consortium Chapter Report of Activity- January 21st, 2011

ACC Istanbul Consortium Chapter was established in April 2010 after a series of meetings with the regional FACCs and the board of the Turkish Society of Cardiology. The inagural activity of the of the Chapter was 'The Best of ACC' meeting that was organised in collaboration with the Turkish Society of Cardiology in Istanbul on April 24 – 25, 2010 and attended by Cardiologists from all over Turkey. 9 speakers from the ACCand 9 speakers from the Turkish Society summarised the most important topics that were discussed at the ACC for those who could not attend themeeting. The meeting was a huge success and was well appreciated by the attending physicians. There was a large demand to repeat it in the

On July 2nd, 2010 Ms. Lynn Langdon from the ABIM visited Turkey and met the board of the TSC and the Turkish Board of Cardiology to discuss future activities.

The representative of the Turkish Society of Cardiology is Prof. Dr. Lale Tokgozoglu and the representative of the Turkic World Cardiology Association is Prof. Dr. Cetin Erol. ACC Istanbul Consortium Chapter held its first general assembly in Istanbul on October 23, 2010, during the 26th National Cardiology Congress of the Turkish Society of Cardiology. The FACCs of Turkey and the regional countries elected Professor Sasko Kedev, President of the Macedonian Society of Cardiology, as the FACC Representative of the Chapter Board during the General Assembly of the Chapter. 47 cardiologists from several countries attended the first General Assembly of the Chapter.

The ACC Istanbul Consortium Chapter Board elected Professor Lale Tokgozoglu as the President in its first meeting.

The board of the ACC Istanbul Consortium Chapter held its secondmeeting in Skopje on December 3, just before the Joint CME Meeting of the Turkish and Macedonian Societies of Cardiology.

The Joint Meeting was a good opportunity to launch the ACC Chapter in Macedonia. The enthusiasm of the participants and the faculty was impressive.
